I am a qualified health professional, registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) with a four year dietetic degree. I am also affiliated with the Association for Dietetics of South Africa (ADSA) and with the Discovery Vitality Wellness Network for dietitians.

I consult clients / patients who need advice in nutrition therapy for their condition or need to make lifestyle changes which would include healthy eating.

“Being a dietitian requires commitment, dedication and a genuine concern for people, be it medical or purely for health reasons. My aim is to ensure that each individual’s nutritional needs are met to their satisfaction.

A healthy lifestyle is one of the best choices one can make. Living a healthy lifestyle includes a balanced diet and regular exercise. However, if you suffer from certain conditions, you can improve your quality of life by making the correct nutritional choices.  Dietary treatment is based on the following:

  • Weight problems
  • Diabetes Mellitus (Type 1 and 2)
  • High cholesterol
  • Insulin resistance
  • Hypoglycaemia (Low blood sugar)
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Gut disorders
  • Food allergies / intolerances
  • Pregnancy
  • Healthy eating
  • Sport nutrition
  • Vegetarianism
  • Paediatric nutrition
  • PEG feeding

  • Discovery Vitality Nutrition Assessments
  • Corporate Wellness days

Dietetic services are based on every person’s unique requirements. These services are focused on improving the quality of your lifestyle by helping you make good and healthy nutritional choices.

The initial consultation will take approximately one hour. Firstly, a medical and diet history will be taken to determine the correct dietary approach for your specific needs. It will then be necessary to determine your body compositions. This will include measurements of your weight, height, body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, and waist circumference. This information will be compiled and kept in your consultation file for future reference. It is also recommended to bring any blood results provided by the doctor or a nurse.

The next important step is to provide you with dietary advice, set up some nutritional goals as well as a guide on how to reach these specific nutritional requirements.

A personalised eating plan will be formulated based on your nutritional and energy requirements.

It is highly recommended to come for follow up sessions as long as required. Follow up sessions will provide you with additional nutritional knowledge, reassessment of measurements, motivational support and ensuring that nutritional goals are met.

The Vitality Nutrition Assessments helps you to know what your body’s nutritional requirements are and what your goals should be.

This assessment will take approximately 30 minutes. You will need to answer a series of questions relating to your health profile such as medical history, family medical history, lifestyle factors and dietary patterns. You will then receive a report with recommendations and advice. Remember, this is a lifestyle and dietary assessment, not a full dietary consultation.
